1. Provider

Nuance is provided by:

2. Scope and beta status

These Terms apply to the mobile application Nuance and related services.

Nuance is currently provided as a beta version.

The available features may vary depending on:

  • application version;
  • account;
  • entitlement;
  • beta status;
  • technical availability.

Different user terms apply only where TR Studio Lab expressly agrees to them.

3. Formation of the agreement

A usage agreement is formed when you:

  1. register a Nuance account;
  2. expressly accept these Terms; and
  3. are technically permitted to use Nuance.

Existing beta users enter into the usage agreement no later than when they first expressly accept these Terms.

The Privacy Notice explains how personal data is processed. Acknowledging that you have read the Privacy Notice is separate from accepting these Terms.

4. Eligibility and account responsibility

You may use Nuance only if you are at least 18 years old.

You must:

  • provide accurate account information;
  • protect your credentials from unauthorised access;
  • notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access;
  • use Nuance in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

Your account is personal and may not be transferred or made permanently available to another person without our approval.

5. Service features

Nuance may provide features including:

  • relationship profiles;
  • conversation timelines;
  • manual message entry and import;
  • importing copied message text;
  • extracting message text from screenshots;
  • opening-message generation;
  • reply generation;
  • follow-up-message generation;
  • revision of existing drafts;
  • two reply alternatives;
  • Pattern Review;
  • Coach context;
  • relationship-context management;
  • sharing text through the device’s native sharing interface;
  • Standard features;
  • Deep features where enabled for the account;
  • in-app account deletion.

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, there is no entitlement to the permanent availability of every feature.

6. Purpose and limitations of Nuance

Nuance is intended to help you develop authentic and constructive reply alternatives for general, conflict-related or emotionally demanding conversations.

Nuance may help you:

  • reduce emotionally destructive communication;
  • avoid impulsive messages you may later regret;
  • create emotional distance;
  • consider long-term communication goals;
  • formulate boundaries;
  • better understand your communication patterns;
  • write messages you can genuinely stand behind.

Nuance does not guarantee a particular conversational, relationship, conflict-resolution or emotional outcome.

7. AI-generated content

Some content provided by Nuance is generated using artificial intelligence.

AI output may:

  • be factually incorrect;
  • misunderstand information;
  • miss relevant context;
  • be worded inappropriately;
  • misinterpret motives or emotions;
  • be too direct, too cautious, too emotional or too distant;
  • contain bias;
  • be unsuitable for a particular situation.

You must review every draft before using it.

You are solely responsible for deciding whether to:

  • use;
  • edit;
  • copy;
  • share;
  • send;
  • disregard

a message.

Nuance does not send messages automatically.

The native sharing interface does not reliably confirm to Nuance whether text was actually sent or delivered.

8. No professional advice or emergency service

Nuance is not:

  • psychotherapy;
  • medical or psychiatric treatment;
  • legal advice;
  • professional family or relationship counselling;
  • crisis intervention;
  • an emergency or protection service;
  • a regulatory or other professional decision-making service.

Nuance is not intended for circumstances involving:

  • immediate danger;
  • violence;
  • abuse;
  • self-harm;
  • harm to others;
  • a medical crisis;
  • another emergency.

In an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency, police, crisis, protection or medical services.

9. User content

You retain your rights in content you enter or upload.

For the duration and purpose of providing Nuance, you grant TR Studio Lab the limited, non-exclusive rights necessary to:

  • store;
  • technically reproduce;
  • structure;
  • secure;
  • transmit content to contracted technical providers;
  • process it using AI systems;
  • use it to produce the results you request;
  • process it for technically necessary troubleshooting.

These rights apply only to the extent required to provide Nuance securely, troubleshoot the service and comply with applicable law.

Nuance does not publish your content as public content.

10. Other people’s data and messages

You may provide messages, screenshots, relationship descriptions or other data concerning another person only where processing is lawful.

You must:

  • remove unnecessary identifying information;
  • anonymise data where practical;
  • not provide unlawfully obtained messages;
  • not upload business, professional or private secrets without permission;
  • not provide highly sensitive information about another person unless legally entitled to do so;
  • not provide content that infringes privacy, personality, copyright or confidentiality rights.

Nuance is not intended to collect or manage highly sensitive third-party information.

11. Prohibited use

You must not use Nuance for:

  • unlawful acts;
  • harassment;
  • threats;
  • stalking;
  • blackmail;
  • coercion;
  • deliberate deception;
  • fraudulent manipulation;
  • hate or discriminatory attacks;
  • preparing or facilitating violence;
  • unauthorised access to another account or data;
  • automated bulk requests;
  • circumventing safeguards, credits or rate limits;
  • distributing malware;
  • infringing copyright, privacy, personality or confidentiality rights;
  • attempting to override server-side instructions or security controls through commands embedded in messages.

TR Studio Lab may investigate misuse and restrict access where necessary.

12. Credits, Standard, Deep and Beta Pro

Nuance uses credits to technically limit certain AI features.

Credits may come from:

  • monthly free allowances;
  • Beta Pro assignments;
  • administrative test grants;
  • other expressly displayed beta credit buckets.

Credits:

  • are not legal tender;
  • have no cash value;
  • cannot be freely transferred;
  • do not create a right to payment;
  • may have different validity periods and usage conditions;
  • are consumed according to the cost configured for the relevant feature.

Standard and Deep may use different:

  • technical models;
  • processing profiles;
  • credit costs;
  • availability requirements.

Beta Pro is a beta entitlement granted for testing and is not currently a paid subscription.

No real subscription or paid credit purchase is available during the current beta.

A button such as “Buy more credits” currently opens product information only and does not initiate a purchase.

Before paid subscriptions or credit packs are activated, separate pricing, payment, cancellation, withdrawal and refund information will be provided and these Terms will be updated.

13. Availability and beta status

Nuance is under active development.

You may experience:

  • interruptions;
  • delays;
  • model or provider errors;
  • incorrect imports;
  • incomplete AI output;
  • interface changes;
  • beta-feature changes;
  • adjustments to technical limits;
  • temporary unavailability.

TR Studio Lab aims to provide reasonable availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free use unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

Mandatory statutory rights concerning digital products remain unaffected.

14. Changes to Nuance

TR Studio Lab may modify Nuance for objectively justified reasons, including:

  • improving security and stability;
  • correcting errors;
  • developing features;
  • complying with legal requirements;
  • responding to changes made by external providers;
  • preventing abuse;
  • adjusting the beta.

Where a change materially affects access or usability, we will provide any notice required by law.

Mandatory rights concerning digital products remain unaffected.

15. Account deletion and termination

You can permanently delete your account inside the application:

Relationships → Account and data → Delete account

Account deletion terminates the usage agreement and deletes associated Nuance application data as described in the Privacy Notice.

A Google Form made available through the Google Play listing may be used for external account-deletion requests.

Submitting an external request does not automatically delete the account. We may first verify that you own the identified account.

TR Studio Lab may suspend access or terminate the agreement for good cause, including:

  • serious or repeated breach of these Terms;
  • misuse;
  • unlawful use;
  • security risks;
  • attacks on technical systems;
  • circumvention of credits or limits.

Where immediate suspension is not required, reasonable prior notice will be provided.

16. Rights in Nuance

The software, design, branding, text, database structure and other elements of Nuance are legally protected.

You receive a limited, personal, revocable and non-transferable right to use Nuance in accordance with these Terms.

Mandatory statutory rights, including rights concerning interoperability or error investigation, remain unaffected.

17. Third-party services

Nuance relies on third-party services, including:

  • Supabase;
  • OpenAI;
  • Expo Application Services;
  • Google Play;
  • Google Forms;
  • the operating system;
  • the native sharing interface;
  • external communication applications selected by you.

The availability of external services may be outside TR Studio Lab’s control.

The terms of the relevant third party also apply to accounts, services and content you use directly with that third party.

18. Statutory warranty and consumer rights

TR Studio Lab does not exclude mandatory statutory rights.

In particular, consumer rights concerning:

  • failure to supply;
  • defects;
  • missing updates;
  • unlawful modifications of digital products

remain unaffected.

Beta notices and feature descriptions do not constitute a waiver of mandatory consumer rights.

19. Liability

TR Studio Lab has unlimited liability:

  • for intent and gross negligence;
  • for injury to life, body or health;
  • under product-liability law;
  • within the scope of an expressly assumed guarantee;
  • where limitation of liability is prohibited by law.

For a slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical of the agreement.

An essential contractual obligation is an obligation whose performance is necessary for proper performance of the agreement and on which you may normally rely.

Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

These liability provisions also apply to legal representatives and agents.

TR Studio Lab is not liable for the content of a message that you use or send after your own review, or for another person’s reaction, unless the damage results from a breach of duty by TR Studio Lab.

20. Privacy

Information about personal-data processing is provided in the Privacy Notice for Nuance.

You can access the Privacy Notice inside the application under:

Relationships → Account and data → Privacy Notice

A Google Form made available through the Google Play listing may be used for external account-deletion requests.

21. Changes to these Terms

TR Studio Lab may update these Terms where there is an objectively justified reason, including:

  • changes in law;
  • new features;
  • new payment models;
  • security requirements;
  • changes to important service providers;
  • changes to the beta structure.

Material changes will be communicated in an appropriate and timely manner.

Where required, you will be asked to expressly accept a new version.

Acceptance of an old version does not automatically constitute acceptance of a materially changed version.

22. Governing law

German law applies, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

For consumers, this choice of law applies only to the extent that it does not remove protection provided by mandatory provisions of the country of their habitual residence.

Exclusive jurisdiction in Mannheim applies only where you are:

  • a merchant;
  • a legal entity under public law;
  • a special fund under public law;

or where a jurisdiction agreement is otherwise legally permitted.

23. Language and final provisions

The German version of these Terms is authoritative.

The English translation is provided for convenience. Mandatory statutory rights are not limited by this provision.

If any provision of these Terms is wholly or partly invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective. Statutory provisions apply in place of the invalid provision.
